Last week, we got free breakfast one morning because it was “Health Ahead” day. Yummo! I had a veggie frittata, apples with peanut butter, a small quesadilla, and infused water. It reminded me that I like water with cucumber and lemon. It’s time to break out the infusion pitcher!
I had a lot of spinach with my lunches last week, with grapes, carrots, raisins and string cheese for snacks.
For exercise, I did spin on Tuesday, muscle attack Wednesday, treadmill on Thursday, and walking on Friday. Yesterday I walked a few miles at a community art fair, and today I rode bikes with Jeff.
Today was mostly on track. For breakfast, I had toast with peanut butter and bananas, with a heap of grapes on the side. Lunch was chocolate cake and cheese puffs. Dinner is back on track with a BLT salad, made with spinach, avocado, tomato, and a bit of bacon. For dessert, I have geek yogurt topped with raspberries.
Top number with usual work out clothes.
Bottom number without.
Guess my problem isn’t entirely with food because I’ve been eating less AND healthier, but the scale simply hasn’t budged.
Mrph mrph mrph…
I’m going on day four or five without chocolate and it’s great!! Now I just need to eliminate other bad decisions from my diet… Like soda, French fries, and other mega-calorie foods.
Breakfast today was a sausage, egg, and cheese English muffin sandwich.
Fitness so far is a half hour brisk walk.
No pictures of either since my phone battery was too low.
Sorry I haven’t been posting, it’s been busy. I got a ride in on Sunday, after having spent the majority of Saturday traipsing about the city. Here, have some photos:
Winter farmers market, Saturday
Breakfast and lunch, and all snacks from Saturday
Trying to find a 50's style dress for a friend's wedding
Hitting the bike, Sunday.
Don’t mind the clutter, I’m in the middle of refinishing my table and my art studio shares space with my gym/library/living room.
Practice: leaving left overs
Bike, coffee reward
I hit the bike again this morning for half an hour. Now I’m drinking coffee and heading to work. Hoping to keep this momentum.
Today was a pretty good day. I had a lot of lean proteins and a lot of spinach. Of course, I had a poptart and crackers, too. This blog is about progress, not perfection, so I’ll continue to tell it like it is.
I only had a couple of sugar attacks today. The first was after lunch, and I pinged Eli. It was funny, in a way. He just said “breathe.” And that helped. He also offered an orange, which I thought was sweet enough 🙂
My only concern with giving up sugar (-y snacks) would be picking up salty snacks. I had cheeze it’s for a morning snack. The almonds pictured above are my solution to another late day craving 🙂
After work, I was still ravenous, so after guzzling water, I landed on a choice of beef sticks for a snack. Ehhh…
The good news is that I got a ten minute walk in. The bad news is that I was still “starving” when I met up with Jeff, so we went out to dinner.
My hangry got the better of me, and we split a cookie before the meal. We were at Davanni’s and I had a solo Hawaiian on thin crust.
Breakfast was a yummy piece of banana bread that I made it home. There were even chocolate chips in it! I, of course, had some coffee as well. Lunch was a turkey sammich scarfed down between emails and my lunch break is being used for a nice walk . I cannot believe it’s 45 degrees out!
this weekend I spent a lot of time spring cleaning and I even have a bicycle trainer set up to her living room. I cannot wait to get more active.
